LEGALMIGA MEMBERSHIP

  • The Legalmiga™ Membership is a subscription-based legal services program designed to provide you on-call access to an attorney for any legal question that you have in general, or specific to your business. Any time of the day, afternoon, night - whenever you work best. I will respond to your inquiry within no more than 48 hours (typically much quicker).

  • No. I will never hide the ball from you. You make one up-front payment each month in order to get unlimited email access to me. Even if you just email me once to figure out an issue for you, you’re likely going to be saving hundreds of dollars off of what it would normally cost to have an attorney speak with you regarding a very specific issue. That said, if one email inquiry will take more of an hour of my time to research/respond to, I will provide you either a quote for an additional cost, or I will do my very best to point you in the right direction so that you can find the information and you may decide how you would like to proceed.

GENERAL LEGAL QUESTIONS

  • Most of my trademark services are in a package payment format. In order for me to provide you the best legal services and advice, my trademark registration packages include the comprehensive search, opinion letter, filing fees ($275 per classification), and monitoring after the application is filed.   • It is difficult to determine how long a trademark application will take. However, you should receive an initial response from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) within approximately three months of filing your application. However, the total application process may be anywhere from 6 months to a year, or even longer.

  • As far as trademark applications are concerned, LegalZoom will only provide you with their “Basic Federal Direct-Hit Search” which their website describes as “a search of the USPTO database for potential conflicts with your trademark.” Basically, they search the USPTO search system for you and then they leave the attorney work up to you – by allowing you to draw your own legal conclusion on whether or not you’ll be successful in filing your trademark.   • I offer free, 15-minute clarity calls where I do not provide legal advice, but rather, we dive into your legal matter/issue and see if this is something that I can assist you with. I am aware that some lawyers choose to provide varying levels of advice for free, however I have made the decision to not provide specific legal advice without a paid consultation because I cannot fully and ethically address your needs to the best of my abilities without doing, at minimum, basic legal research on my end. I also must run internal conflict checks as I have a duty of loyalty to former, current, and future clients to not compromise their interests (and yours as well) by performing a conflict check on each new inquiry.

  • I charge flat-fee rates for most of my services. That means you’ll know up front what you’re being charged, and for what service I’m completing for you. No hidden hourly fees here!

  • Yes, I do offer payment plans on a majority of my services.

  • Sometimes I do offer discounts to specific services but those will only be shared on social media and/or to my e-mail subscribers, so make sure you’re subscribed!

  • Yes, you can pay invoices with credit card or direct bank transfers.

  • Think of legal as an investment in your business. Not investing now could cost you much, much more down the line. Failing to protect your brand & secure ownership in what is yours could be detrimental, even fatal to your business endeavors. That said, I try to offer competitive rates for businesses that are just starting out. I also offer contract templates as a (sometimes) cheaper option that will allow you some protection where you absolutely need it.
